2008 New Bern Christmas Parade
Entry Guidelines



The following guidelines apply for organizations desiring to participate in the
2008 New Bern Christmas Parade, scheduled for Saturday, December 6th.


Floats: Floats must be decorated using a holiday theme. Each entry is responsible for ensuring the safety of their float participants. Children on floats must be supervised at all times.

Lineup: Lineup will begin at 2:30pm along Trent Road. The first entry will be located at Fort Totten Park on Trent Road and the last entry will be at the corner of 7th and Trent Road. When you arrive for the lineup, it is easier to come in at the 7th and Trent Road location and a Jaycee will be there to give you your lineup number and then you can pull right in to your location. This should eliminate the need for people having to try to turn around on Trent Road to find their spot. Look for Jaycees (wearing name tags/shirts) for assistance.

Marching units will assemble at the City of New Bern parking lot on the corner of Trent Rd. and First Street

To help insure the safety of those watching the parade, we ask that no candy or objects be thrown from the floats. We suggest candy be handed out by persons walking the parade route.

Only one Santa Claus will be allowed in the parade. This Santa will be riding on the Craven County Jaycees Float at the end of the parade.

The Parade route will end at the end of Craven Street. Please continue by taking a right and unloading at the Sheraton parking lot. Please do not stop at Craven Street to unload all of your passengers, continue until you get to the parking lot. This will ensure there are no traffic jams with the other floats making there way along the parade route.

Line up will start at 2pm. A representative from the Craven County Jaycees will be at both sides of Trent Road starting at 7th Avenue and ending at Fort Totten Park to let you know your line up number.

Signing of this form releases the Junior Chamber of Commerce from any damages to person or properties occurring during the New Bern Christmas Parade.

Monetary proceeds will be used to purchase gifts for Christmas parties held for the Mentally Handicapped children of Craven County given by the Craven County Jaycees.
