Saturday, December 13 is the annual New Bern Woman's Club Holly & Ivy Home Tour from 12-5 pm, in Downtown New Bern $12 in advance; $15 day of tour; $100 for 10 tickets in advance, 252-672-9334

The Woman’s Club of New Bern’s 2008 Holly & Ivy Homes Tour boasts seven historic homes and takes place December 13, Noon to 5 p.m. Be sure to stop at the designated "Sugar Plum" house for a treat of homemade holiday cookies and cider

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the tour. Tickets may be purchased at the Bank of the Arts, the New Bern Visitor and Convention Center, or Harris Teeter. To celebrate the Tour’s tenth anniversary, the Club will host a tea at the Gabriel Manigault Rains House at 605 East Front Street, New Bern, with three seatings—1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4 p.m.—limited to 36 guests per seating.

Tickets for this special event are $25 and cover both the tea and the tour. Tickets to the
Anniversary Tea may be purchased only by calling 633-6447 by November 22.

Christmas Candlelight Tour - A Grand Illumination at Tryon Palace

CHRISTMAS CANDLELIGHT TOUR - A GRAND ILLUMINATION 5 P.M. TO 9 P.M.

Step back in time for an unforgettable evening in colonial New Bern in 1770. Gov. and Mrs. Tryon are hosting a 'Grand entertainment and Ball' to celebrate the completion of the palace and the birthday of King George III.

The palace is illuminated with seasonal lights and filled with elegant dancers and fascinating characters. New Bern's colonial townspeople have also turned out to enjoy the festivities. Circus performers, Signora Bella and Otto the Sword Swallower, will be performing throughout the evening. The grand finale of the evening is a spectacular fireworks show on the south lawn. Come celebrate the holidays with us.

Fee charged: $15-adults, $6-students. Tickets will be sold for specific tour time slots from 5-9 p.m. .Special performances by: Fife and Drum Corps 5 p.m. and 7 p.m; Jonkonnu 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

This events was named A Top 20 Holiday Event in the Southeastern United States by the Southeast Tourism Society, 2005, 2006, 2007.
