Portraits by Angelo Welcome to Downtown New Bern

Portraits by Angelo specializes in custom location portraiture and weddings.  We love the freedom and creativity that comes from photographing families and children outside in natural settings.  Since downtown is our favorite photography location, it only made sense to move our studio here.  At PBA, we believe portrait art should extend beyond simply capturing a face to revealing one's true personality.  Anyone with a camera can "take a picture" and call themselves a photographer; however it takes a special degree of knowledge, sensitivity and artistry to create an image that honestly reveals who an individual is deep down--this is our goal!  Remember, photographs last forever, invest in a professional!  We promise you will not be disappointed!

John and I have been in business full-time for four years and were previously located on Glenburnie Road.  We are both professional photographers with degrees in portrait photography and are members of Professional Photographers of America and Professional Photographers of North Carolina.  We photograph weddings and most portrait sessions together as a team.

We also offer custom framing and photo restorations!  We will be selling matted photographic art prints of all sizes by this summer and plan to offer photography classes as well! Anyone interested can contact John at john@portraitsbyangelo.com.

Blue Bear Portraits is a new division of Portraits by Angelo, created just this year.  It is founded on the idea that everyone should have access to unique, affordable, quality portrait photography.  The goal is to provide families a local alternative to corporate portrait studios.  We offer outstanding studio photography of newborns, babies, children and families.
